U.S. President Donald Trump has delivered a rare and sharp rebuke of Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him “absolutely CRAZY” following a weekend barrage of Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote: “I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!”
The comments come after Russia launched its most intense aerial assault on Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began in 2022, firing 367 drones and missiles on Saturday night into Sunday.
The relentless attacks continued into Monday, hitting parts of Kyiv and other regions, although the intensity appeared to lessen.
Despite the strong condemnation of Putin, Trump also aimed criticism at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “Everything out of his mouth causes problems,” Trump said. “I don’t like it, and it better stop.”
