Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, is scheduled to visit Plateau State on Monday, after a domino of deadly attacks in the Bokkos and Bassa communities claimed numerous lives in the past two weeks.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this  during a visit to Bassa alongside the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, on Saturday.

“My heart is with you, and I convey also that of Mr President, who is so concerned that he asked us to come here, not just me alone, but also the Minister of Defence,” Yilwatda said.

It was revealed that the National Security Adviser had visited earlier, and now the Vice President will arrive to directly engage with stakeholders.

“Mr President said these killings must come to an end,” the minister maintained. assuring communities that the government is intensifying efforts to restore peace to Plateau State.
