Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has announced his withdrawal from all political agreements reached with key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing betrayal and bad faith among party leaders.
In a statement released on Sunday, Wike accused Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi of reneging on commitments made during a high-level meeting hosted by former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The gathering, which also included Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, was aimed at fostering unity and charting a path forward for the embattled opposition party.
Wike expressed regret over what he described as continued political gamesmanship by individuals he once trusted. “I genuinely believed we could work together to reposition the PDP, but it’s clear some are only interested in self-preservation,” he said.
