Falana & Falana Chambers has issued a formal legal notice to one Daniels Paul, demanding a public apology and retraction over allegedly defamatory remarks made about Prophet Sam Olu Alo.

The notice, dated 21 May 2025, was sent on behalf of Emmanuel Odunayo Omotosho, who referred to Prophet Alo as his spiritual father, mentor, and benefactor. The letter was signed by Adams Atata, a lawyer at the Lagos-based legal firm.

Omotosho alleged that Daniels, reportedly residing in Bodija, Ibadan, used the social media handle “Rotimi Daniels FPEquity” to disseminate what he described as “false, malicious, and defamatory content” targeting the cleric.

According to the firm, Daniels knowingly spread untrue claims with the intent to damage Prophet Alo’s reputation and mislead the public. “Your actions amount to a gross violation of Prophet Sam Olu Alo’s rights under the law, including but not limited to defamation, cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and character assassination,” the letter stated.

Daniels was given a seven-day deadline from the date of the letter to retract all statements made against Prophet Alo, both online and offline, and issue a public apology. The apology must also be published in two widely circulated national newspapers.

Falana & Falana Chambers warned that failure to comply would lead to legal action, including claims for damages and other remedies as permitted under Nigerian law.
