Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has dismissed claims that he is nursing a presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging full support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Bello made this known in a statement issued on Friday by his media director, Michael Ohiare, in response to a resurfaced 2022 rally video suggesting he had launched a campaign against President Tinubu.

Describing the video as misleading and outdated, the former governor said he was shocked that the clip was being used to push a false narrative.

“While we state categorically that our principal, Bello, has no 2027 presidential ambition, we also stress his unflinching commitment to the re-election of President Tinubu come 2027,” the statement read.

Commending Tinubu’s administration, Bello noted that despite global economic headwinds, the President has shown remarkable leadership and deserves the support of all well-meaning Nigerians.
