The lawmaker representing Iwajowa in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Anthony Ogunsola, has called on Governor Seyi Makinde to urgently address the deteriorating road infrastructure in the Kajola-Iwajowa axis of the state.
Speaking at a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) meeting hheld recently at the Iganna palace square in Iwajowa Local Government Area, Ogunsola stressed the need for swift intervention, citing the economic and social importance of the roads to residents and businesses in the region.
In a statement personally signed and sent to PUNCH Online on Tuesday, the legislator pinpointed the stretch from Okeho-Ilero to Iganna-Iwere Ile — the administrative hub of Iwajowa — as particularly dire, urging immediate rehabilitation efforts.
He further appealed for the completion of the Ijio-Ayegun Wasinmi border road, a strategic route connecting Oyo State to neighbouring Benin Republic.
“These roads are lifelines for our people — farmers, traders, and transporters alike,” Ogunsola noted, stressing that development and connectivity in the region remain hindered due to poor road conditions.
