The Federal Government has ordered an immediate halt to construction on the 12-kilometre Sagamu-Iperu Road near the Sagamu Interchange on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway due to concerns over substandard work.

Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, issued the directive on Thursday during an inspection of road projects across Lagos and Ogun States. Expressing disappointment with both the quality and pace of the project, Umahi criticised the contractor’s performance and insisted on urgent corrective measures.

He gave the contractor a seven-day deadline to address the issues and remove the poorly executed stone base, warning that non-compliance would attract further consequences.
