The Nigerian Senate has constituted an 18-member committee to oversee the activities of the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.).

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the development during plenary on Tuesday, stating that the committee’s creation reflects the Senate’s commitment to effective oversight in the state’s affairs amid its unique administrative arrangement.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele was named as the chairman of the committee, which is expected to engage closely with state authorities to ensure governance processes remain within constitutional and administrative bounds.
